Tag you’re it
Posted by Clayton Shold in Other "Stuff"
When I played tag as a kid the objective was not to get tagged. You didn’t want to be “it”. I’m not sure why, those were just the rules we played by. Well Jill Konrath of Selling to Big Companies and organizer of the first SALES Shebang conference recently tagged me. Being “it” I am obligated to share 8 little known things about my self, so here goes.
1. I am a twin. (Yes … better looking and smarter than my brother!)
2. I ride a Harley Davidson motorcycle (’05 Softail Deluxe)
3. Since July 2004 I’ve run 3454 km (2146 miles) … the distance from Oakville Ontario to Banff Alberta (Seattle to Dallas)
4. Some friends (?) call me Minnie Me due to my “tall” stature (5’ 6 3/4”)
5. My Miniature Schnauzer’s goatee is the same color as mine (gray)
6. I was born the same day as Bill Gates just 119 km (74 miles) away (so was my twin!)
7. I’ve parachuted out of a plane (twice)
8. When I was born I was so small I shared an incubator with my bother – giving him his first black eye at age 2 (days)
I now get to tag others … enjoy.

Clayton, you poop!
The responsibility you have passed on to me weighs heavy on my head. I will post a list of 8 things, and tag some more people in the process, but you’ve got to give me a day or two. When I post it, I’ll try to do a trackback to this. Hey, I’m just learning.
Great idea – do you have any idea where it originated?
Michael, your comment inspired me to do a little research on blog tag. From what I could find (using my skills acquired from Hidden Business Treasures!) I determined the earliest reference to blog tag was by New Yorker Jeff Pulver on his blog on December 10, 2006.
He wrote … Turns out there is a game of Blog-Tag going around the blogosphere in which bloggers are sharing five things about themselves that relatively few people know, and then tagging five other bloggers to be “it.” Others have claimed to start blog-tag but their posts have been early to mid 2007 so Jeff may well be the “unofficial” creator.
Given this bit of historical data – feel free to limit your number of items to five and tag five others. Must have been a sales VP got involved at one point and bumped the quota!
I’m It
Ok, I have been delinquent in responding to Clayton from Salesopedia and his tag of me. Apparently I have to share 8 little known things about me. I’ll give it a try: continue reading
[...] Clayton’s blog article that tagged me carried a specific responsibility – to share 8 random or little known things about myself. Gulp! I write a business blog specifically to escape writing about personal stuff. So this is very difficult, but here goes: [...]
