What a Wonderful World

Posted by Clayton Shold in Other "Stuff"

One of the things I really enjoy about blogging is the opportunity it presents to meet some wonderful people. These are people from around the world who, like me, are keen to grow their business and while doing so, reach out to help others.

This morning I have the good fortune of being the guest author on Jonathan Farrington’s blog that he writes from just outside of Paris France. Given the quality of his posts, and those of his other guests, I consider it an honour to have received the invite to contribute.

Inside sales expert Josiane Feigon in San Francisco was kind enough to include Salesopedia on her top ten favorite blog sites list this morning in her post “Have I convinced you to blog?”

Yesterday from high in the mountains of Colorado (actually they are just outside Denver but being in the mountains sounded good) two internet search experts and acclaimed speakers, Michael Benidt and Sheryl Kay from Hidden Business Treasures called to interview me about ‘blog networking’. They have a number of presentations coming up they were preparing for including a big one with the National Speakers Association next month. I had made a comment in our discussion about the frustration with accessing companies through their generic “fill out the boxes” on the Contact Us page. This morning (which would have been early on MST) I received a note from Michael with a great tip from their blog.

On Sunday I ran into an unexpected cancellation for a podcast interview which had been set up for some time. It was for this week’s home page. What to do? I emailed my friend Kelley Robertson of the Robertson Training Group as we were using one of his articles on the home page, explained the situation, and just like that he responded “I’d love to help, what time do you want to do the interview?” Click to hear his podcast on Negotiating Price. Thanks again Kelley!

The internet and more specifically blogging, has really shrunk the world. The ideas and advice available to anyone are a few mouse clicks away. The opportunity to meet new people is as easy as leaving a comment about one of their posts. Click on this link to to hear that great song playing by Louis Armstrong, “What a Wonderful World.” It really is. Embrace it.
