Half As Long Is Twice As Good

Every once in a while an article comes along that makes you sit up and take notice.
This was the case recently with an article in Fast Company just before Christmas. It seemed everywhere we turned we were reading about “For Presentations, Half As Long Is Twice As Good”.
Joey Asher believes most business presentations stink. Who hasn’t sat through long, text ridden PowerPoint slide presentations that put you to sleep? In his article he suggests five ways to make your next presentation a “happy exception”.
Mr Asher is president of Speechworks, a selling and communication skills coaching company in Atlanta. His fourth communication skills book is “15 Minutes Including Q&A: A Plan to Save the World From Lousy Presentations.”
We contacted Mr Asher asking to reproduce the article on Salesopedia but ran in to some copyright issues as it was written for Fast Company. We respect that, so here is the link: http://www.fastcompany.com/3004119/presentations-half-long-twice-good
It turns out Joey is a pretty nice guy who we have enjoyed connecting with. He felt bad he couldn’t secure the initial article, or even tweak it for a sales audience so he offered up a free (no strings attached, no registration) eBook “How to Create a Seven-Minute Rifle Shot Presentation”. Click the link; it might be the best investment you make this year. http://www.speechworks.net/images/stories/pdf/15MinuteseBook.pdf
