Excuses

Do you fall a sleep in meetings or at your desk? I hope you don’t, or at least that you don’t make a frequent habit of doing so. Funny thing about those leading a meeting, often they suspect if your sleeping, you are probably not taking in what’s being said. Chances are they are probably right. If you are caught at your desk getting a bit of shut-eye the boss may not feel you are contributing to the corporate bottom line. What can you do?
Should you get caught snoozing, I have some things you might try saying, compliments of Denver Colorado’s Rocky Mountain News:
– They told me at the blood bank that this might happen.
– I wasn’t sleeping, I was meditating on the mission statement and envisioning a new paradigm.
– Why did you interrupt me? I had almost figured out a solution to our biggest problem.
– Boy, that cold medicine I took last night just won’t wear off.
– Ah, the unique and unpredictable circadian rhythms of the workaholic.
Mind your naptime, mind your mindset!
